Overview
Upon arrival at the Temple of Dendera—one of South Qena’s premier tourist attractions built by Ptolemy IX Soter II—you’ll encounter a vast complex enclosed by a modern, air-conditioned wall. Although the ancient dried bricks are nearly eroded, the temple’s sides measure between 925 and 990 feet, and two magnificent Roman-period gates grace its north and east sides. You’ll have ample time to explore the temple with a knowledgeable guide providing detailed insights. After your visit, you’ll be comfortably returned to Luxer.
